Amendment III

The Course will be announce on Saturday morning - there will be an ISORA party after the fiinish on the Plas Heli top deck

Pwllheli - Night Coastal Race has been rescheduled to Saturday evening 23rd July - more details to follow. Starting in SCYC Abersoch

We take it for granted, and it’s always there - whether we like it or not. The good old Irish Sea. But could it be that there’s a new and growing awareness of just how much the Irish Sea can offer if you’re interested in cruiser-racing which really does test a boat and crew’s ability to do what the boat was designed to do? In other words, going offshore, and staying offshore for a decent distance of the course, rather than using the boat only for semi-inshore races which could perfectly well be done by craft with no accommodation at all. W M Nixon wonders if the long-forecast re-birth of the Irish Sea Offshore Racing Association really has been happening while we all were looking elsewhere.

Dun Laoghaire to Douglas - Qualifying Race - Weight 1.2 Start - 2000hrs

The Course - ISORA Race 5

Start - see new definition - this amends the SI's

Bennet Bank Cardinal Buoy N53 20.177 W5 55.125  (S)

Finish as defined in the SI's

The Start Line – this amends the Sailing Instructions - Amendment 1

The start line is the line between Cardinal Buoy North Kish (N53 18.553 W5 56.424) and Kish Bank Lighthouse (N53 18.655 W5 55.547)

The ISORA YB tracking will provide the Race Management with an accurate position of each boat in the start area. Boats that are deemed by YB to have crossed the start line will receive a time penalty of one minute for every one second over the line.

Amendment 2

Boats going to and in the starting area can use their engines up to the start line provided they complete a 360⁰ turn after turning off the engine.

Amendment to Sailing Instructions N0. 3 and No.4

Amendment 3

The start time has been changed to 2030 hrs - this is to allow crew on the ferry to arrive in time for the race start in the new location at the Kish

Amendment 4

The start time and sequence may be announced by VHF oc Channel 37. There will be no starting flags and the absence of either sound or flags will not be grounds for protest or redress.
