Hi

Congratulations to Mick Flynn, Grant Kinsman and team on A Plus for winning their first ISORA race and also to Nigel Ingram J109 Jetstream who showed great pace in the race in Pwllheli - see the report in afloat.ie here

The Race Management Committee called a meeting of the General Sailing Committee on Sunday afternoon to discuss the first scheduled cross channel race. The committee considered all current regulations and our 'back to racing protocol' it was unanimously agreed not to hold a cross channel race scheduled for Saturday 8th August.

It was, however, agreed that there would be races on each side of the Irish Sea, similar to Race 4 (a&b).

It was also agreed that without a cross channel race the Wolf's Head Trophy would not be presented in 2020.

Competitors will compete for the respective championship titles on either side of the Chanel, the Coastal Series, Class Results and Of course the Silver Class.

The revised schedule will be published shortly with the appropriate amendments and revised Supplemental Sailing Instructions.

ISORA Chairman Peter Ryan said 'this was a very difficult decision for ISORA where the Wolf's Head trophy has been presented every year since it was first presented to ISORA in 1977 but the safety of all competitors is our primary concern and we are of course guided by the rules and regulations of the separate Nations.'

A revised schedule of races (V8a) has now been published, these races will follow the same schedule of races previously published, however, the format and date of the race scheduled for Monday 17th August will be reviewed and details will be published shortly.

Our racing will only take place if conditions allow for a safe competition for all and that we are not placing any risk on others.

ISORA racing in these difficult times is possible because of our investment in technologies which allow remote desk-top race management. The course for both races will be issued before 1200hrs on Friday 7th August and both races can be viewed on the ISORA YB Tracker.
